Wa­ter work­shops

Grow­ers and self-sup­ply wa­ter users are be­ing en­cour­aged to get along to a se­ries of wa­ter work­shops.

The first of the work­shops will pro­vide in­for­ma­tion to the com­mu­nity and agri­cul­ture/hor­ti­cul­ture in­dus­try on how wa­ter avail­abil­ity is de­ter­mined and the De­part­ment of Wa­ter and En­vi­ron­men­tal Reg­u­la­tion’s Don­nelly Catch­ment mod­el­ling.

The de­part­ment is also seek­ing feed­back to in­form its de­ci­sion.

The first meet­ing will be held

from 5pm at the Pem­ber­ton Sports Club on Oc­to­ber 23, the sec­ond in Man­jimup on Oc­to­ber 24 at the De­part­ment of Pri­mary In­dus­tries and Re­gional De­vel­op­ment of­fice from 9am, 1pm and 5pm and again on Oc­to­ber 25 at 9am. Reg­is­tra­tions are es­sen­tial and can be made by call­ing 9726 4111.

The sec­ond work­shop se­ries will be a cost re­cov­ery in­for­ma­tion ses­sion and work­shop and will cover the pro­posed li­cens­ing fees the State Gov­ern­ment is look­ing to im­ple­ment for new wa­ter li­cence ap­pli­ca­tions and li­cence re­newals.

There are only 50 spa­ces and it will be held at the Tigers Foot­ball Club on Oc­to­ber 25 from 10am. Reg­is­ter at www.dwer.wa.gov.au/
