Bombers’ forward line fires

Manjimup-Bridgetown Times - - Sport -

The Warren Blackwood Bombers continued their winning form with a comfortable victory over Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault at Manjimup Oval on Saturday.

The Bombers took command of the contest in the opening term to open a commanding 27point lead and from this point controlled the contest with some dominance.

The final score of 11.1 (67) to 1.1 (7) reflected the players’ teamwork, skill and speed with the ball.

Bombers’ ruck division, led by Holly Gill, was instrumental in setting up a constant wave of attacks and with Lacey Holdsworth, Mackayla Lowe and Sophia Scott all in fine form up forward a flow of majors ensured.

Claire Ellis was also active up forward slotting a string of majors off some strong contested marking.

Bombers captain Savannah Ashworth gave a polished display while senior players Terea Blee, and Carla Ward delivered hardworking performances to link up the Bombers’ play.

Kiara Little and Abbey Wilson continue to show they have skills to add to the Bombers’ strong list and will be important players as the season continues.

The Bombers’ season will take a two week-break during school holidays and return with an away game against Bunbury on July 25.
