The grants will help communities provide a space for men to meet, reconnect and participate in their local communities.

As Mansfield has been home to a vibrant Men’s Shed for many years, the group is unable to apply for the larger $60,000 new building grants, but there is an additional grant available of up to $30,000 for Men’s Sheds groups that want to either modify their shed to meet health and safety and/ or disability access standards, make the Men’s Shed larger or expand their activities range.

“Men’s sheds play a vital role in supporting and enhancing the wellbeing of men around Victoria,” Minister Mikakos said.

“This funding will help more men to work together locally and provide valuable services to their community.”

There are more than 350 men’s sheds already operating across Victoria.

The Labor Government provides $1 million per year through the Men’s Shed program, including funding to support the Victorian Men’s Shed’s Association in strengthening the capacity of men’s sheds.
