Two new subdivisions approved for Mansfield
MORE than 35 new housing blocks were approved by the Mansfield Shire Council for the month of August.
The blocks were all part of broader subdivision applications – including a five lot development off the Mount Buller Road, and a 29 lot subdivision off Tabletop Road in Tolmie.
Interestingly, an application for a museum was also approved – to be run out at Booroolite.
A further 25 applications were lodged for consideration for the month of August, as was heard at the September Mansfield Shire Council meeting.
So far, the council’s planning department has recorded more than $5 million worth of building works for the 2017-2018 financial year – considerably more than that lodged at the same time last year.
The 2016-2017 year showed an overall slowing in the value works of buildings across the shire, with $36.7 million worth lodged at council.
The 12 months prior to that recorded just over $38 million in building value, with the 2014-2015 year amassing almost $36 million.
In recent times, the biggest year for building works in Mansfield was 2011-2012, with more than $40 million lodged.
