Two new sub­di­vi­sions ap­proved for Mans­field

MORE than 35 new hous­ing blocks were ap­proved by the Mans­field Shire Coun­cil for the month of Au­gust.

The blocks were all part of broader sub­di­vi­sion ap­pli­ca­tions – in­clud­ing a five lot devel­op­ment off the Mount Buller Road, and a 29 lot sub­di­vi­sion off Table­top Road in Tolmie.

In­ter­est­ingly, an ap­pli­ca­tion for a mu­seum was also ap­proved – to be run out at Booroo­lite.

A fur­ther 25 ap­pli­ca­tions were lodged for con­sid­er­a­tion for the month of Au­gust, as was heard at the Septem­ber Mans­field Shire Coun­cil meet­ing.

So far, the coun­cil’s plan­ning depart­ment has recorded more than $5 mil­lion worth of build­ing works for the 2017-2018 fi­nan­cial year – con­sid­er­ably more than that lodged at the same time last year.

The 2016-2017 year showed an over­all slow­ing in the value works of build­ings across the shire, with $36.7 mil­lion worth lodged at coun­cil.

The 12 months prior to that recorded just over $38 mil­lion in build­ing value, with the 2014-2015 year amass­ing al­most $36 mil­lion.

In re­cent times, the big­gest year for build­ing works in Mans­field was 2011-2012, with more than $40 mil­lion lodged.
