Public health and wellbeing plan taking shape
THE Mansfield Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Planning (MPHWBP) Workshop held last month at the Mansfield Golf Club “is the start of a new approach t o how we improve the health and wellbeing of our Mansfield community”, according t o Mansfield Shire Council chief executive officer Alex Green.
The workshop was facilitated by Professor Steven Allender and his team from the Global Obesity Centre (GLOBE), helping the community bring their thoughts together on the day.

Completion of this survey is important and will assist the team develop further detailed actions to continue the momentum of the plan.
The information gathered to date will ensure the key issues are captured and that the detail truly reflects the Mansfield Shire, the issues it faces as a community and what the community can commit to do about it.
The formal document is the Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan and the draft will be available for public comment in the next few weeks.
This will allow for further feedback, as well as feedback from others in the community.
Soon, the GLOBE team will be returning to Mansfield to deliver a two day workshop on systems thinking.
This will assist the broader community to connect to deliver actions out of the MPHWBP and have them linked back to the priorities defined in the plan.
This is an important part of the process and allows council to hold itself to account in delivering on actions.

Training will be held on October 30 and 31 at the Mansfield Library from 9am - 4pm.
