Mansfield community grants available
MANSFIELD Shire Council’s Community Matching Fund will open on Friday, October 27 and accept applications until Monday, November 20, 2017.
Grants of up to $3000 are available for not-for-profit groups based in the Mansfield Shire for projects that will help build a stronger, healthier and more sustainable community.
To coincide with the grant round a Grants Workshop will be held at the Mansfield Library from 6pm on Tuesday, October 24.
Only one round of funding will be offered this year to distribute the total funding pool of $20,000.
Grants are expected to be highly competitive and groups are strongly encouraged to contact the community development team to discuss their ideas.
“Council remains committed to continuing to support the work of not-for-profit clubs and groups in the Mansfield Shire,” said mayor Paul Volkering.
“Within our community development team at council we have a wealth of experience in project development and attracting funding, and I encourage all groups to make the most of this resource by getting in touch with them at the earliest opportunity.
“Forward planning is the key to any successful project and although council may not be able to directly fund every project, if we start the conversation we can help groups to develop their ideas and have the best possible chance to find funding and achieve good outcomes for our community.”
