Buller operators donate funds to hospital

Mansfield Courier - - OPINIONS/PEOPLE -

BULLER Ski Lifts have donated the lift profits of the final day of the 2017 snow season to Mansfield District Hospital.

General manager of Buller Ski Lifts, Laurie Blampied, said the company hoped to make a positive contribution to the town through the gesture.

“Our local hospital relies on donations from the public for upgrades and capital improvements,” Mr Blampied said.

“As a local company with a significant role in our regional community, Buller Ski Lifts is pleased to be able to make this contribution to our town and our people.”

Mt Buller has enjoyed an excellent snow season with an early opening followed by bumper snowfalls in August and September.

The excellent snow conditions have boosted visitor numbers to the resort and the local area this winter, and the deep late season snow cover prompted the resort to extend the season by an additional week, closing last Sunday, October 8.
