Agriculture summit coming to Wangaratta
A ONE day summit focusing on business agriculture is coming to Wangaratta this month.
Aimed at identifying the key sectors that contribute to the wealth of the North East region – and in turn, how those sectors are managing a changing economy, climate and social environment while positioning themselves for growth.
The one day event will further explore issues previously at the Ovens and Murray Regional Forum and the North East Agribusiness dinner, where the community highlighted the need to pursue and support opportunities in the agriculture sector that would strengthen the broader economy.
The summit aims to bring together key industry leaders and regional agribusiness participants to better understand the role these sectors play in North East Victoria.
The day will explore the value, activities, opportunities and employment these industries and organisations bring to the region. Topics covered will include:
the role industry leaders play and their scale;
their operational activities, competitive advantage and why choose the North East; and
their successful strategies for managing a changing economy, climate and social environment.
To be held at the Wangaratta Regional Study Centre on November 21, the summit will begin with pre-dinner drinks from 5pm.
