Just horsing around
MANSFIELD Show will have a new competition this year, with the introduction of the ‘Fancy Dress on Horseback’ event.
Carol Horan, chief steward of the horse events, is keen that people know about this fun event.
“Competitors can take on any theme for their costumes, and fancy dress can be for rider, horse and rider, or horse only,” Ms Horan said.
“The competition is open to all age groups, especially anyone who only wants to be in this event and not the other horse events,” she added.
All those who enter will receive a ribbon, and there will be monetary prizes for placings.
First place will receive $30, second $15 and third $5.
Judging will be at 1pm and the entry fee of $3 can be paid on the day.
The Fancy Dress on Horseback entrants will also ride in the Grand Parade.
PRINCESS PERFECT: You can come as a princess or anything else you like to the annual show’s ‘Fancy Dress on Horseback’ event.
