Mansfield Steiner School artisans

Mansfield Courier - - YOUTH NEWS & VIEWS -

THIS year, seven Steiner School students entered their limestone sculptures in the Mansfield Median to Rare Outdoor Art Exhibition.

Based on the theme of water, the sculptures were one of several projects undertaken as part of the artisan elective subject offered to years 8 and 9.

Students learn both traditional and modern skills to design and create unique artefacts from metal, wood and stone.

The sculptures were a big change from their last unit on jewellery making.

In their 15 day inquirybased learning intensive workshop, students spent the first 80 minutes of each day modelling a life-sized clay head.

CREATION: Charli Dolling with her head.
