The Japanese are known for their artistic dish presentation and restrained, petite servings – something Maggie claims is not her forte.
But on this journey from Tokyo to Osaka and the quiet countryside of Noto, she learns there is a synergy between her Mediterranean style of cooking and the Japanese ways.
Above all, they are both in the pursuit of flavour.
Both are driven by using the highest quality, fresh and seasonal ingredients.
She takes her notes home to the Barossa to show her friends some new recipes that are a unique fusion of Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine, using her Australian regional ingredients.
