Chelsea’s mum and President of Qld Calisthenics Michelle Humphreys said it isn’t often Queensland girls place in the top five due to the strong competition from other states.
“Both girls represented their state in their team as well and showed great tenacity to accomplish their dreams to replicate their place at the nationals,” she said.
“They were the only ones from our 21-strong group of representatives to place this year.
“This was an accomplishment that is a highlight in their calisthenics career for the second time: a feat not repeated in Queensland calisthenics history.”
Both girls hope to continue growing as strong competitors.
Fifteen-year-old Chelsea Humphreys said they were eager achieve what they did last time.
“We trained for so long so when you place like this it’s really good,” she said.
