WHEN it comes to health, many women are great at car­ing for oth­ers but of­ten put them­selves last.

Across five days, Women’s Health Week (Septem­ber 4-8) will be sup­port­ing women to make healthy choices.

Women across Aus­tralia will learn more about their health and talk about is­sues they might not usu­ally dis­cuss.

Free events, ar­ti­cles, videos, pod­casts, recipes, tools and much more will be sup­ported by a range of ex­perts to help make women’s health a pri­or­ity.

More than 40,000 women have al­ready signed up for more than 1000 Women’s Health Week events in ev­ery state and ter­ri­tory across Aus­tralia.

They’re tak­ing place ev­ery­where from Kim­ber­ley in Western Aus­tralia to Coober Pedy in South Aus­tralia, Mo­ran­bah in Queens­land and Lawitta in Tas­ma­nia.

“Women’s Health Week is a fan­tas­tic op­por­tu­nity for women around Aus­tralia to take a lit­tle bit of time out for them­selves,” says Jean Hailes Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor Janet Michel­more AO.

“They can get to­gether with friends and share a cook­ing class or join a bike ride – it’s what­ever they want to make of it.

“Women’s Health Week is about set­ting aside some time in our busy lives to think or talk about health is­sues and pos­si­bly think about ways you can make a few pos­i­tive changes.

“By in­vest­ing more time in our­selves, we’re bet­ter able to look af­ter the ones we love and care about.”
