Helping fix the council’s roads
THE Federal Government has committed nearly $2.5 million to upgrade Sunshine Coast roads under the latest Roads to Recovery funding round.
The program means funding is provided directly to councils to assist them with maintaining and upgrading local government areas.
“Across the Sunshine Coast, four upgrades totalling more than $2,552,000 will take place between now and February next year,” Fairfax MP Ted O’Brien said.
“In Fairfax, nearly $1 million has been committed to works along Dalton Dr in Maroochydore, as well as upgrades to the Mudjimba Esplanade from Beach Rd north towards North Shore.”
Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace said he was looking forward to the projects commencing.
“Upgrade works for Currimundi Rd between Buderim and Farlow Sts are now under way,” Mr Wallace said.
“This is about making our roads safer for local families.”
