A BEACH CARNIVALE IS COMING
GRAB your beach ball and picnic mat and head down to the Beach Carnivale for a family day full of food, sports and sandy fun.
Thousands of participants are expected to enter and tens of thousands of spectators are anticipated to pour in the gates when the event begins later this month.
Event People general manager Scott Hollow said the Beach Carnivale would be a festival of music, sports and food trucks with amusements and activities for the whole family.
“It’s a fun and fast-paced atmosphere that is centred around food, sports and the beach,” he said.
“The multi-sport event is focused around the beach and will include a range of sports, that the community is encouraged to come and try.
“Sports such as beach netball, volleyball, dodgeball, soccer and 3x3 basketball to name a few.”
Scott said there would be 15-20 food trucks to choose from.
Sunshine Coast councillor Jason O’Pray said he was excited to see more events come to the region.
“I’m happy to see more diverse events add to a solid regional events portfolio,” he said.
“This isn’t just a sporting event.
“You probably couldn’t get a better fit for our area.”
The family-fun event will feature amusement rides, an outdoor cinema, live music, beach bar and an array of sports.
The Beach Carnivale will be stopping in at the Sunshine Coast at Cotton Tree Park on October 21-22 from 10am-10pm before making its way down the east coast.
