A fright­ful stay in the ‘Yabba’

THIS two-part tele­vi­sion event is a mod­ern retelling of the iconic Australian film, based on Ken­neth Cook’s 1961 novel of the same name.

The mini-se­ries fol­lows young school teacher John Grant (Sean Keenan, pic­tured) who finds him­self ma­rooned in the fic­ti­tious min­ing town of Bun­danyabba in Aus­tralia’s out­back.

John is se­duced by shady strangers at the lo­cal pub on an al­co­hol-fu­elled night of gam­bling that leads to a dan­ger­ous se­ries of events.

Wake In Fright fea­tures an all-star cast in­clud­ing David Wen­ham, Alex Dim­i­tri­ades, Caren Pis­to­rius, Gary Sweet and Robyn Mal­colm.

Di­rected by Kriv Sten­ders (Red Dog) and filmed in Bro­ken Hill and Syd­ney, this is one of the most highly-an­tic­i­pated TV dra­mas of the year.
