Maroochy Weekly - - NEWS - STEPHEN ROBINSON

THE Sunshine Coast Airport Expansion Project is underway with contractor, John Holland Group.

The new runway will be completed by Christmas 2020. Initial work includes start-up activities for the dredging and dunal works.

Beach Access 111 and its associated parking will be closed until dredging works are complete at the end of October 2018. Signs have been installed to direct users to other accesses and traffic management will be in place for David Low Way.

Shelter upgrades

THERE have been a lot of recreational infrastructure upgrades in Bli Bli.

The latest was the upgrade of two picnic shelters at Muller Park, including concrete pathway access and a tap.

Community safety

THE Bli Bli Community Association this month included a presentation from the QPS on local police issues.

While the message was that Bli Bli remains safe, it’s a reminder to ensure homes and vehicles are secure.

Netball courts

ANOTHER 10 high quality netball courts were added at the Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex, which will benefit players across the region.

The upgrade has played a major role in securing the national NetFest event on the Sunshine Coast for 2018.
