Help for homeless as pollies waste funds

Maroochy Weekly - - NEWS -

I AM disgusted at the treatment by our state and federal politicians of our homeless people.

While we have hundreds of thousands of people sleeping rough out in the cold, hungry, subject to harassment by gutless cowards, we have Julie Bishop swanning around the world, giving hundreds of millions of dollars to countries that hate us and want to destroy our way of life.

All whilst we have a debt of $550 billion.

This week I came into contact with one of these homeless people.

He is about 18 years old. Sleeps in the local park. No money to buy food, survives on scraps of food, has not been able to access Centrelink due to insufficient documentation.

Now, thanks to Hart 4000, they have sent away an application for a birth certificate, and paid for it.

Hopefully then, he can get some money for food and find shelter, and then get back on the treadmill of life.

I cannot understand why our state and federal governments do not have a one-stop department to help these homeless people, to get documentation, Centrelink payments, shelter, and a job.
