School’s cool in the pool
William Walhert stretches out in the Lancefield pool as Tooborac Primary School combined with Pyalong Primary School and Willowmavin Primary School for the cluster swimming sports. It was a good way to beat the recent heatwave with the district, or division, competition to take place on Friday.
STUDENTS at Tooborac Primary School kicked off their school year with a splash.
In just their second week of school for 2017 they competed in their swimming carnival at Lancefield pool on Wednesday combining with Pyalong Primary School and Willowmavin Primary School for the cluster swimming sports.
On a day where the mercury hit 31 students cooled off in the water and enjoyed a day of fun.
‘‘I was so proud of our students pushing their boundaries by swimming in events they had never entered before,’’ principal James TenisonWoods said.
‘‘It is great students know they are safe to try new things — even if it means they will not win a ribbon.
‘‘They are stretching their skills and having a go.
‘‘We also wish Bill Carlin all the best competing in the division competition next Friday. Go Bill!’’
Ebony Staples and Lily Ford show off the ribbons they won at the carnival.
