Three Panthers teams secure finals’ berths
LAST week saw the last games of the regular season for the Heathcote Panthers Basketball Club’s boys teams with two of the sides making it through to the Bendigo Basketball Association finals.
The girls under 12s won their game and, being equal first on the ladder with only one game to go, they will also be in the finals.
The boys under 12 division 4 side won their game but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to give them a look into the finals.
The boys under 12 division 3 thrashed their opponents and have finished first on the ladder with only one defeat.
The under 16s had a nail-biter, down by one point in the last six seconds of the game.
A two-pointer by Riley Bruce put the Panthers in front and a quick steal thereafter by Victor Butler denied the opposition any chance of coming back.
