HEATHCOTE Golf Club’s Tristen Wearne took out division one of the annual challenge match between Euroa and Heathcote on Wednesday.

Eight ladies travelled to Euroa where they were greeted with a lovely cuppa and a warm clubhouse.

The game started at 9.30am with a mix of two Euroa ladies and one Heathcote lady playing a stableford round.

The course was rather wet underfoot in places but the greens played beautifully.

Wearne won division one with a wonderful score of 37 points. The remainder of the winners and runners up were from Euroa.

The raffle was drawn with a couple of the Heathcote ladies in the winning group.

Lunch was supplied by the ladies from Euroa with the clubhouse decorated in pink for their annual ‘Pink Day’ for breast cancer.

The challenge trophy was won by Euroa this year by a solitary point.

The challenge matches between the two clubs have been held annually since 2011 with Heathcote winning four times. Sincere thanks are extended to the ladies who travelled to Euroa. We are certain they all enjoyed a lovely social day.

Next year Euroa will be visiting Heathcote on a date yet to be decided.

On Saturday, six ladies played a stableford event with Daphne Hall continuing her winning streak with 32 points from runner-up Carol Stuart on 30 points.
