HEATHCOTE Bowling Club’s division three returned to the winner’s list on Saturday with a huge 52-shot win over North Bendigo.

Brian Taylor’s team won the first four ends but then struggled with scores level by the 12th end.
Brian’s team then lifted to win the next five ends and despite losing the last four ends held on to win five shots.
Bill Gardiner’s team won the first three ends and led by nine shots after 13 ends.
Bill’s team continued to dominate, losing only five more ends to record a big 20 shot win.
John McGillivray’s team had an even start but then took control and led by 10 shots by the 13th end.
John’s team only conceded three more ends and were victorious in the final four ends to notch up a huge 24-shot win.
Greg Speirs’ team struggled early on, losing five of the first six ends.
The team then rallied and trailed by just one shot after 13 ends had been played. From then on scores remained close until the 19th end when Greg’s team scored a victory and carried this forward, winning the next six ends to record a three-shot win. Division 6: Heathcote’s division six team was not so fortunate, travelling to Campbells Creek and being given a bowling lesson, losing by 72 shots.

Eileen O’Brien’s team had an even start with only a shot the difference after 13 ends.
Eileen’s team led by two shots on the 21st end but lost the last four ends to lose by two shots.
Chris Cail’s team also made and even start with scores level on the 6th, 9th, 11th and 13th ends. Chris’s team then struggled however, winning only four more ends and ultimately went down by 15 shots.
Denise Anderson’s team led early and trailed by only three shots after 14 ends.
Unfortunately, Denise’s team only managed to win three more ends and went down by 22 shots.
Basil Kapoulitsa’s team struggled from the start and trailed by 12 shots after 13 ends.
Despite their best efforts Basils team could only win 3 more ends and lost by 33 shots.
NOTE: There is no weekend pennant next week.
Midweek Pennant Results:
On Monday, the Heathcote ladies travelled to play top team White Hills in very warm conditions. After starting well, Heathcote led by 11 shots at lunch but then struggled to go down by just nine shots.

Chris Cail’s team started well and led by seven shots after seven ends.
After 13 ends however, the teams lead had dwindled to three shots and the team struggled, winning only three more ends to go down by 13 shots overall.
Eileen O’Brien’s team made an even start with only two shots the difference after 14 ends.
Eileen’s team then struggled, win- ning only four more ends to lose by 10 shots.
Denise Anderson’s team won the first five ends and led by 11 shots by the 16th end.
Denise’s team then shared ends and shots but ultimately triumphed over the opposing team by 14 shots.
Note: There is no pennant play next week with all teams having a bye.
On Wednesday, in fine and warm conditions, 17 players enjoyed three games of pairs and triples.
The winners were Denise Anderson (s) and John Hutson (three wins, 47 points, +6 shots). Runners-up were Smokey Dawson (s) and Ellis Knight (two wins and 1 draw, 37 points, +6 shots), from Rod Hanson (s) and Neville Smith (two wins, 32 points, +2 shots).
The jackpot was not won and will be $200 today.
