Num­bers down in ladies event

IN­CLEMENT weather kept the ladies away from Heath­cote Golf Club on Satur­day with only three — Dot Trott, Marg Sims and He­len Car­lin — tak­ing part in a stable­ford round. Marg Sims was vic­to­ri­ous with 39 points.

A to­tal of 22 men braved the el­e­ments with the win­ner again be­ing Kris Mueck with 37 points.

Ball com­pe­ti­tion win­ners were: Ger­ard El­lis and Wil­lie Laird 36 points and John Gastin 35 points.

Birdie balls went to: Ger­ard El­lis (8th hole), Kris Mueck (16th) and John Gastin (16th). Par balls went to Ron Blach­ford.

Near­est the pins win­ners were: Phil Cole­man (13th); Kris Mueck (16th); and on the 18th: Adrian Goudie (A grade and Su­per­pin); Phil Cole­man (B grade); and Terry Shiels (C grade).

A STABLE­FORD round was played last Thurs­day by 22 play­ers.

The win­ner was Kris Mueck with 40 points off a hand­i­cap of +4. Well done, Kris — prac­tice makes per­fect.

Ball com­pe­ti­tion win­ners were: Larry Maxwell and Chris Dunn 35 points; Alan Healy, Tony Hunter and Adrian King with 34 points.

Birdie balls went to: Kris Mueck (2nd, 8th, 16th and 18th holes) and Adrian King (8th hole).

LAST Wed­nes­day, 14 ladies played Pot­tose. A va­ri­ety of re­sults were posted sug­gest­ing that not all the ladies ac­tu­ally know how to play it.

It is ex­pected Pot­tose will be played again this sea­son and hopes are high the ladies will re­ceive clearer in­struc­tions this time.

Doreen Schiele won a ball for near­est the pin, sec­ond shot on the 18th.

ON MON­DAY, May 14, the fifth round was played of the Heath­cote Golf Club ladies pen­nant in divi­sion three.

Belvoir Park proved too strong for the Heath­cote ladies with Belvoir Park win­ning three games to two.

Dot McGil­livray, He­len Car­lin and Amanda Long did their best but came sec­ond in their game while Regina Driver and Daphne Hall came up trumps in their game.

The team fin­ished sec­ond over­all and the club would like to con­grat­u­late all play­ers who par­tic­i­pated in pen­nant this year.

To­mor­row: Open Stable­ford Ag­gre­gate Pairs.

Satur­day, May 26: Men and ladies Stable­ford se­cret part­ners.

Mon­day, May 28: Ladies pen­nant pre­sen­ta­tion at Nean­gar Park.

Wed­nes­day, May 30: Ladies Stable­ford visit from Euroa ladies. Ladies are re­minded to bring a plate to share for lunch on Wed­nes­day May 30 for the visit from the ladies from Euroa.

Golf will start at 10am as usual, please try to come ear­lier to wel­come the ladies and share a cuppa with them.
