Flower jailed for crime spree

BLAKE Flower, who stole a ute and mul­ti­ple firearms from an Axedale prop­erty in Novem­ber last year, has been sen­tenced to 12 months be­hind bars.

Flower fronted the County Court on Fri­day, where Fair­fax Me­dia re­ported he pleaded guilty to 14 charges in­clud­ing theft, at­tempted bur­glary, bur­glary, theft of firearm, be­ing a pro­hib­ited per­son us­ing a firearm, and short­en­ing the bar­rel of a lon­garm, as well as traf­fic of­fences.

Flower fled the Axedale scene in a stolen ute, but crashed into a tree. He at­tempted to get away in another ve­hi­cle where he drove to the Axedale Golf Course.

Flower wanted to store the firearms at a prop­erty in Castle­maine, but on the way ran a red light in Kan­ga­roo Flat and hit two other ve­hi­cles, it was re­ported.

Flower will face the court again in De­cem­ber 2019 for ju­di­cial mon­i­tor­ing.
