Euroa ladies claim tro­phy

EUROA Golf Club won the stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion at Heath­cote Golf Club last week.

On Wednes­day, 10 Heath­cote ladies hosted 17 ladies from the Euroa club.

It was a close match with Euroa win­ning the chal­lenge with an av­er­age score of 23.11 while Heath­cote av­er­aged 22.6.

The best stable­ford score by Euroa was carded by An­nette Smith with 31 points, while Lynne Fouracre scored best for Heath­cote with 28 points.

The win­ner of the NAGA award from Euroa was Mandy Edwards while Doreen Schiele took out the NAGA hon­ours for Heath­cote.

Ball com­pe­ti­tion win­ners were: L. Red­fern, S. Bullen, H. Gil­bert, M. De­nis from Euroa and He­len Carlin from Heath­cote.

Near­est the pins win­ners were all from Euroa: P. Sprunt (8th), A. Smith (13th), G. Allen (18th).

THE monthly medal was con­tested on Sat­ur­day for both the ladies and men.

The ladies played a stable­ford which was won by Sue Green who carded 33 points, while Amanda Long’s 32 points se­cured her run­ner-up.

The men played a stroke round with Dean Jones win­ning the medal with 72-3-69 on a count back from Paul Rolfe 82-13-69.

Ball com­pe­ti­tion win­ners were: Paul Rolfe, Adam Hen­wood 68-+2-70, Adrian King 82-10-72, Adrian Goudie 80-7-73, Terry Shiels 95-22-73, Mitchell Hogg 79-5-74, Gerard El­lis 79-5-74.

Near­est the pins: Greg Long (13th), Phil Cole­man (16th), and on the 18th hole: Dean Jones (A grade and Su­per Pin); Paul Rolfe ( B grade), Terry Shiels (C grade).

Birdie balls went to: Adam Hen­wood (on the 2nd); G. El­lis, G. Long and D. Jones on the 13th; and Adam Hen­wood on the 16th and 18th. Adam Hen­wood scored an ea­gle on the par 5 first hole.

A STABLE­FORD round was played on Thurs­day, with 25 play­ers tak­ing part.

The win­ner was Paul Rolfe with 35 points. Ball com­pe­ti­tion win­ners were: Brian Davis 34, Adrian King and Gary Boyes 33, Wil­lie Laird 32.

Birdie balls went to: Adrian Goudie (13th), and Paul Win­tle (18th) who also won the Su­per Pin.

ON MON­DAY, May 28, Regina Driver and Carol Stu­art trav­elled to Nean­gar Park Golf Club to play in a stable­ford event which was fol­lowed by lunch and a pre­sen­ta­tion for the ladies’ pen­nant.

Un­for­tu­nately, Heath­cote didn’t win sec­tion three, how­ever, Regina was pre­sented with a tro­phy for scor­ing a hole-in-one at the Bendigo Golf Course on the fi­nal day of pen­nant. Com­ing events: To­day: Ladies stable­ford. To­mor­row: Mid­week cham­pi­onships.

Sat­ur­day, June 9: Men’s qual­i­fy­ing pairs knock­out stable­ford ag­gre­gate; ladies stable­ford.
