Euroa ladies claim trophy
EUROA Golf Club won the stableford competition at Heathcote Golf Club last week.
On Wednesday, 10 Heathcote ladies hosted 17 ladies from the Euroa club.
It was a close match with Euroa winning the challenge with an average score of 23.11 while Heathcote averaged 22.6.
The best stableford score by Euroa was carded by Annette Smith with 31 points, while Lynne Fouracre scored best for Heathcote with 28 points.
The winner of the NAGA award from Euroa was Mandy Edwards while Doreen Schiele took out the NAGA honours for Heathcote.
Ball competition winners were: L. Redfern, S. Bullen, H. Gilbert, M. Denis from Euroa and Helen Carlin from Heathcote.
Nearest the pins winners were all from Euroa: P. Sprunt (8th), A. Smith (13th), G. Allen (18th).
THE monthly medal was contested on Saturday for both the ladies and men.
The ladies played a stableford which was won by Sue Green who carded 33 points, while Amanda Long’s 32 points secured her runner-up.
The men played a stroke round with Dean Jones winning the medal with 72-3-69 on a count back from Paul Rolfe 82-13-69.
Ball competition winners were: Paul Rolfe, Adam Henwood 68-+2-70, Adrian King 82-10-72, Adrian Goudie 80-7-73, Terry Shiels 95-22-73, Mitchell Hogg 79-5-74, Gerard Ellis 79-5-74.
Nearest the pins: Greg Long (13th), Phil Coleman (16th), and on the 18th hole: Dean Jones (A grade and Super Pin); Paul Rolfe ( B grade), Terry Shiels (C grade).
Birdie balls went to: Adam Henwood (on the 2nd); G. Ellis, G. Long and D. Jones on the 13th; and Adam Henwood on the 16th and 18th. Adam Henwood scored an eagle on the par 5 first hole.
A STABLEFORD round was played on Thursday, with 25 players taking part.
The winner was Paul Rolfe with 35 points. Ball competition winners were: Brian Davis 34, Adrian King and Gary Boyes 33, Willie Laird 32.
Birdie balls went to: Adrian Goudie (13th), and Paul Wintle (18th) who also won the Super Pin.
ON MONDAY, May 28, Regina Driver and Carol Stuart travelled to Neangar Park Golf Club to play in a stableford event which was followed by lunch and a presentation for the ladies’ pennant.
Unfortunately, Heathcote didn’t win section three, however, Regina was presented with a trophy for scoring a hole-in-one at the Bendigo Golf Course on the final day of pennant. Coming events: Today: Ladies stableford. Tomorrow: Midweek championships.
