En­ter­tainer and writer Em Rus­ciano will host the Shep­par­ton News Pink Rib­bon Brunch.

Awave of women in pink will con­verge on Shep­par­ton’s East­bank Cen­tre on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 25 to at­tend the ninth

Shep­par­ton News Pink Rib­bon Brunch. More than 700 women and a hand­ful of men will gather for a morn­ing of fun and en­ter­tain­ment while rais­ing aware­ness and funds for can­cer re­search.

Shep­par­ton News Pink Rib­bon Brunch co­or­di­na­tor Karen Gill said the event had grown over time from a small break­fast of 60 to a brunch of more than 700 guests, with this year’s event sell­ing out in about half an hour. The Na­tional Breast Can­cer Foundation has been the ben­e­fi­ciary, with the pro­ceeds of the past eight years be­ing more than $256 000 and last year’s fundrais­ing to­talling a record $65 150. Co­me­dian Em Rus­ciano will en­ter­tain the women in pink with her bub­bly per­son­al­ity and hu­mour as this year’s MC and is proudly brought to the brunch by Goul­burn Val­ley Imag­ing Group. This year’s guest speaker is lo­cal busi­ness woman Liz Ainsworth, the founder and di­rec­tor of LA Vi­sion Ad­ver­tis­ing Agency. Liz will share her ex­pe­ri­ence of liv­ing with can­cer. Upon ar­rival the 732 brunch guests will be greeted with a glass of bub­bles and pop-up dis­plays from Fern­wood gym, Stephens Jewellers, Shep­par­ton Sorop­ti­mists, two Happy Snaps photo booths, a pink rib­bon mer­chan­dise ta­ble, and more. More than 60 raf­fle prizes have been con­trib­uted from lo­cal re­tail and ser­vices busi­nesses, as well as three items up for grabs in a silent auc­tion.
