Winter clothes call

Melville Times - - Opinion -

VINNIES needs women’s winter clothing after major demand for the charity’s assistance in recent months.

The combination of a long, cold winter and increases in the cost of living and utility costs mean more people have been turning to organisations such as Vinnies.

Vinnies state distribution centre manager Andrew Milne said the added demand had created a shortfall in stocks, most notably in women’s winter clothing.

“Despite the large number of clothing items sorted daily, there is a significant shortfall in women’s winter stock and this will have a significant impact on supplies for next year,” Mr Milne said.

“We also accept donations of clean, good quality men’s and children’s clothing, blankets, bedding and kitchenware.”

People can donate at their local Vinnies shop or at the state distribution centre in Canning Vale.
