Big night to cap 50th an­niver­sary

BOORAGOON Pri­mary School will cap its 50th an­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tions with a cock­tail evening at Tomp­kins on Swan on Oc­to­ber 21.

The school com­mu­nity, past stu­dents, staff and fam­i­lies are among those in­vited.

The event will be the fi­nale to cel­e­bra­tions held through­out the year to mark the mile­stone.

Blake Rose, who grad­u­ated in 2010, is a singer-song­writer, and will per­form on the night.

The Cle­ments Road school opened in 1967 with five teach­ers and about 140 stu­dents.

Alumni in­clude foot­ballers Cale Hooker, Jamie McNa­mara and Jonathan Grif­fin, ac­tress and model Alice Rooney, and Black Bal­loon co-writer Jimmy Jack.

Tick­et­ing for the event closes Oc­to­ber 16 at 3pm. There will be no door sales. Visit www.try­book­ 284128.
