City promotes public transport
THE City of Fremantle strategic planning and transport committee has promoted an advocacy position to promote public transport between Fremantle city centre and adjoining areas. The official position will go to council to make a final decision. In a report to council, City officers promoted “designation of the high priority transit corridor between Fremantle city centre and Murdoch along South Street as a light rail route”. They also promoted “identification of the corridor between Fremantle city centre and Cockburn central as a route for passenger rail within stage 2 of Metronet”.
