Men's Style (Australia) - - Editor’s Note - MICHAEL PICK­ER­ING Ed­i­tor

Our Men Of In­flu­ence is in its 9th edi­tion this year. I have now com­piled five of them and so feel qual­i­fied to say this year’s list rep­re­sents our most di­verse col­lec­tion of inf lu­en­tial men to da te. From an ar­chi­tect to an op­tometrist, prop­erty de­vel­oper, cli­mate change spe­cial­ist, chef and jour­nal­ist, the range of di er­ent dis­ci­plines cov­ered by our list is what – in our hum­ble opin­ion – keeps it gen­uine and in­ter­est­ing from year to year. Like, we could prob­a­bly make the list more Pr-able and so­cial me­dia-friendly, but Men’s Style read­ers are of the more savvy va­ri­ety and see through such cyn­i­cal ma­nip­u­la­tion. As one of this year’s Men, Win­ston Mccall, says, “in a world quickly be­com­ing about man­u­fac­tured per­sonas, the start­ing point for every­thing is pre­sent­ing an hon­est and true self to the pub­lic”.

Mon­day, May 9 - when this Win­ter is­sue goes on sale – is also the be­gin­ning of Wool Week Aus­tralia, a week of fash­ion, art and style which cel­e­brates one of the world’s most lux­u­ri­ous nat­u­ral fi­bres and which we here in Aus­tralia just hap­pen to pro­duce shed­loads of. High­lights in­clude the Is­abella Blow: A Fash­ion­able Life ex­hi­bi­tion at Syd­ney’s Pow­er­house Musem and the host­ing of a di er­ent Aus­tralian designer each day at West­field Syd­ney’s Styling Suite on Level 6.
