Sweet and Spicy Pa­neer Ke­babs

• 1 pack­age whole pa­neer, cut into 1 Π-inch blocks • 5 pre­soaked wooden skew­ers • cup onion, cut into 1-inch pieces • juice of 1 small lemon

For sauce • 1 Σ cups sweet­ened chili sauce • 2 Tbsp wa­ter • 2 Π tsp soy sauce • Σ cup cilantro, finely chopped • 2 spring onions, finely chopped

For sea­son­ing • 2 tsp sea- salt flakes • 1 tsp cumin pow­der • Π tsp pow­dered gin­ger • Π tsp mace or co­rian­der pow­der

Com­bine all sauce in­gre­di­ents in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, re­duce heat, and al­low mix­ture to sim­mer for five min­utes. Stir of­ten and watch for burn­ing. Re­move from heat and al­low sauce to cool. Preheat grill to high heat.

Thread onto skewer five pieces of pa­neer, plac­ing four pieces of onion in be­tween. Sprin­kle all sides with lemon juice. Com­bine all sea­son­ing in­gre­di­ents and ap­ply to all sides of pa­neer. Place on grill and cook 2 min­utes per side while con­tin­u­ously bast­ing. Once pa­neer has a rich brown color, re­move from heat and serve.
