Born: Gen­nady Vaynerchuk on Novem­ber 14, 1975.

Raised: Em­i­grated with his fam­ily to the USA in 1978 and raised in Queens, New York, and then Edison, New Jersey.

Ed­u­ca­tion: Bach­e­lor’s de­gree from Mount Ida Col­lege in New­ton, Mas­sachusetts in 1998.

Ca­reer: At age 14, he joined his fam­ily’s re­tail-wine busi­ness. In 1999, took over his fa­ther’s Spring­field, New Jersey store, Shop­per’s Dis­count Liquors, later re­nam­ing it Wine Li­brary and launch­ing sales on­line. By 2005, Vaynerchuk grew the busi­ness from $3 mil­lion to $60 mil­lion a year. In 2006 started Wine Li­brary TV, a daily we­b­cast cov­er­ing wine. In Au­gust 2011, Vaynerchuk an­nounced he would be step­ping away to build Vayn­er­me­dia, the dig­i­tal ad agency he co-founded with his brother in 2009. In 2016 Vaynerchuk in­vested in the sports agency, Sym­me­try, to form Vayn­er­sports to pro­vide fullser­vice ath­lete rep­re­sen­ta­tion.
