CHANCE OF DEVELOPING SKIN CANCER IN AUSTRALIA BY AGE 70

According to the Cancer Council of Australia, two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by age 70. Ninety-five per cent of melanomas will be caused by sunburn. One in eight adults and one in five teenagers are sunburnt on an average summer weekend. Many get sunburnt when they are taking part in water sports and activities at the beach or a pool, as well as gardening or having a barbecue.
