REGATTA REVISITED, 1931
Our recent image of Shipwrights Point on the Huon River reminded reader David Budd of his photos of the Long family having a picnic at the annual regatta held at that location. They were there in 1931 to watch brothers Tas and George Long row for Lindisfarne in the Shipwrights Point Regatta senior fours, finishing second behind the Derwent club crew. The Longs lived at Lindisfarne and operated a plumbing business at 103 Harrington St, Hobart, for many years. Thanks for sharing this photo David, and check out those fine-looking motor cars in the background!
