The right-hand drive con­ver­sion of the RAM 2500 pick-up by Walkin­shaw in Mel­bourne for Amer­i­can Spe­cial Ve­hi­cles could lead to an ex­tended im­port pro­gram with the smaller 1500 RAM that ri­vals the iconic Ford F150. Fiat Chrysler Au­to­mo­tive is as­sess­ing the qual­ity of the Aus­tralian con­ver­sion workto see if it is suit­able for a larger-scale im­port pro­gram on a full fac­tory model.


Race and rally driv­ers are be­ing polled to see if their train­ing and ex­pe­ri­ence can pro­vide a pos­i­tive in­flu­ence for driv­ing. The Aus­tralian In­sti­tute for Mo­tor Sport Safety and Queens­land Univer­sity of Tech­nol­ogy are re­search­ing how in­volve­ment in mo­tor­sport re­lates to driv­ing on pub­lic roads.


A push for full-time adop­tion of a left-turn-on-red light rule in Queens­land is gath­er­ing pace af­ter suc­cess­ful tri­als in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate, says there were no ma­jor in­ci­dents in the trial and he wants the left-turn reg­u­la­tion in the state’s road rules.
