The fifth-generation Honda CR-V is due in showrooms later this month. Powered by a new, superefficient turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, all models will come standard with a raft of safety equipment, including automatic emergency braking, and a digital wide-screen instrument display. The CR-V also comes with Honda’s new five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty. There are five models in the line-up (from $33,590 drive-away to $48,535 drive-away), one of which is a seven-seater at $43,000 drive-away.
DEAL OF THE WEEK
Hyundai didn’t sell enough Santa Fe SUVs in June, despite sharp deals across the range, so discounts continue. The Santa Fe V6 Active (front-drive) is $5400 off the RRP at a low $39,990 drive-away. The Santa Fe Active diesel (all-wheel drive) is just $1000 more, at $40,990 drive-away or a massive $8400 off the full RRP. — Joshua Dowling
