The Viet­namese start-up pre­sented its Lux SA SUV (above) and Lux A large sedan, aimed for pro­duc­tion within 12 months and ini­tially for the lo­cal mar­ket.

A wealthy Viet­namese en­tre­pre­neur, keen to es­tab­lish a home­land car in­dus­try, is re­port­edly in­vest­ing up to $3.5 bil­lion in VinFast.

Via a li­cens­ing deal with BMW, the sedan and SUV use core tech­nol­ogy from the pre­vi­ous 5 Se­ries and X5. Renowned Ital­ian out­fit Pin­in­fa­rina did the ex­te­rior and in­te­rior de­sign.
