Belonging

FEW events draw people together and foster a sense of belonging as much as a community sing-a-long around a campfire.

The City of Hobart Bonfire and Big Sing last night at the Festival of Voices was no exception. On a chilly winter evening locals and visitors rugged up in scarves and coats and lifted their voices up in unison. The Big Sing is always the highlight of the festival. Tonight German metal act Van Canto makes its Australian debut in Hobart — five singers, one drummer, no guitar, no bass and no keyboards.
