Price of power to rise 2%
TASMANIANS will be paying an extra 2 per cent, or an average of $38 a year, more for power from next weekend.
The Tasmanian Economic Regulator yesterday approved Aurora Energy’s new prices which will apply to all residential and small business customers who have not entered into a market contract.
Joe Dimasi said the estimated annual bill increase was based on a number of usage assumptions and that the price rise would have been higher without recent legislative changes to cap power prices.
