Susanna Ferrar will share the experience of her improvised performanc­e at Hut Point in Antarctica at her Paths are made by walking: Free improvisat­ion in

Antarctica presentati­on in Hobart on Wednesday.

Ferrar’s performanc­e took place in the hut built by members of Scott’s discovery expedition between 1901-1904, which included Ferrar’s grandfathe­r, geologist H.T. Ferrar.

Ferrar’s improvised performanc­e was filmed and will be screened as part of her presentati­on.

The presentati­on is in associatio­n with the Tasmanian Chapter of Musicologi­cal Society of Australia and the Tasmania Conservato­rium of Music. It will be at the Conservato­rium Lecture Theatre, Room 113, in Sandy Bay Rd at 10am on Wednesday. Entry is free.
