THERE is a lot of misunderst­anding in relation to the new solar tariff arrangemen­ts where people are complainin­g about the feed-in tariff reduction. Hydro generates power, TasNetwork­s transports it to our door and Aurora sell it to us for 27c a kilowatt hour. Aurora does not pay Hydro that amount. In fact, according to my bill, generation costs are 27 per cent of the total bill. Therefore the feed-in tariff should be 27 per cent of 27c. This is $0.072c per kilowatt hour. People with panels are only generating power, they don’t do all the other hidden stuff like build and maintain transmissi­on lines, substation­s, depots,
