Bike crash wit­nesses sought

TRAF­FIC En­force­ment Group of­fi­cers are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a bi­cy­cle crash in Gooseberry Hill about 2pm on Thurs­day, April 20.

A man was rid­ing his moun­tain bi­cy­cle along sev­eral streets in Gooseberry Hill be­fore rid­ing on the foot­path from the in­ter­sec­tion of Gooseberry Hill Road and Healey Place.

The man was wear­ing a base­ball cap and not a bi­cy­cle hel­met. As he rode fast along Gooseberry Hill Road, he crashed into a wooden power pole.

The 24-year-old man from Gooseberry Hill re­ceived se­ri­ous head in­juries and was taken by am­bu­lance to Royal Perth Hos­pi­tal.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors would like to speak to any­one who may have seen the crash or the man rid­ing his grey-and­black Haro Es­cape moun­tain bike prior to the crash.
