Stolen items re­turned to store

A FEL­LOW shop­per re­turned items stolen by a woman from a Mid­land re­tail store who set off the se­cu­rity alarm when leav­ing.

The woman walked into the store and stole sev­eral items, putting them in her trol­ley and leav­ing with­out pay­ing about 1pm on Wed­nes­day, April 5.

Af­ter ac­ti­vat­ing the alarm, staff mem­bers fol­lowed her and saw her get into a taxi and leave.

A mem­ber of the pub­lic fol­lowed her, re­cov­ered the items and re­turned them to the store.

Po­lice have re­leased CCTV footage of a woman who may be able to help with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

She is de­scribed as be­ing in her mid to late 40s with brown hair tied up in a bun.

She was last seen wear­ing blue jeans, a black strappy top and car­ry­ing a dark brown hand­bag.
