First stage of struc­ture plan com­pleted

THE City of Kalamunda has com­pleted the first stage of its com­mu­nity en­gage­ment ac­tiv­i­ties for the de­vel­op­ment of lo­cal struc­ture plans for For­rest­field North.

The For­rest­field North project team is in the early stages of de­vel­op­ing de­tailed plans for the area to co-or­di­nate the sub­di­vi­sion and de­vel­op­ment around the For­rest­field train sta­tion in High Wy­combe.

Mayor An­drew Wad­dell said more than 400 landown­ers and com­mu­nity mem­bers at­tended work­shops and com­pleted sur­veys.

“We took the ap­proach of in­volv­ing landown­ers and com­mu­nity mem­bers at this very early stage to en­sure the draft struc­ture plans are rep­re­sen­ta­tive of com­mu­nity needs and de­sires,” he said.

Key fea­tures iden­ti­fied dur­ing con­sul­ta­tion showed lo­ca­tion, be­ing close to em­ploy­ment, the city, trans­port and recre­ation, were im­por­tant.
