A ONE-OF-A-KIND service in Forrestfield that is helping veterans battling posttraumatic stress disorder and substance abuse has been offered a lifeline.

The Men’s Health Peer Education (MHPE) program was forced to close its doors earlier this year when the Forrestfield Forum was redeveloped.

Hasluck MHR Ken Wyatt has made a room in his Forrestfield office available temporarily to group each Thursday from 9-1pm.

Mr Wyatt said he knew there had to be something he could do when he heard the group had no place to meet.

“The work that Men’s Health Peer Education does is irreplaceable and I would like to thank all the hard-working members for the hours they spend providing support for our veterans,” he said.
