Master the macaron
CAVERSHAM’S Maison St-Honore is giving people a chance to be a French pastry chef for one night and take part in the Magnifique Macaron Masterclass.
The masterclass, which is part of Entwined in the Valley, will include a high tea with French champagne and a special take-home hamper of the macarons created during the class.
Owner Alexandre Lui-VanSheng said it was the first time the patisserie had taken part in the festival after opening last year.
He said the class was open to 10 people.
“It’s going to be a hands-on class,” he said.
“There will be a high tea and then we will bring everyone into the kitchen, where they will learn how to make macarons.
“It’ll be a great evening and a lot of fun for those who take part.”
Maison St-Honore makes 2000 macarons per day, supplying to cafes across Perth.
Mr Lui-Van-Sheng said since opening a year ago the community had really embraced the patisserie.
“It’s been really great and we have a lot of great neighbours,” he said.
“Entwined in the Valley is a great way to showcase the Swan Valley and all the different places on offer, so it’s great for us.”
The Magnifique Macaron Masterclass will be held on Friday, October 13, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
