Stumbling on Silverdale naturally

Midland Reporter - - #Snapperth - Tracy O’Meara-Smith.

LIVING and working in a 90year-old home in Lesmurdie away from the hustle and bustle of the city is heaven for Tracy O’Meara-Smith and her family.

Mrs O’Meara-Smith said it was by complete chance she discovered Silverdale in 2003.

“I grew up in Trigg and my husband I were looking for a property in the Hills and we got lost while going to look at a house for sale in Carmel,” she said. “We stumbled upon a for sale sign outside of Silverdale, which has an amazing history.

“My home was originally a guest house for Colonel Sanderson, a founding member of the Hills and later a convalescence home for war veterans.

“I love the uniqueness of this property and it is such a wonderful, safe place for kids to run amok in the bush.

“It’s my own little sanctuary away from the CBD.”

Last year Mrs O’MearaSmith set up her natural therapy business

“My clients love travelling up the hill for treatments, as it is a wonderful haven with trees, birds and nature,” she said. “City dwellers are starting to shift their mindset that the Hills aren’t that far away.

“I really am blessed to live and work from this space – it’s incredibly special with incredible history.”
