Young Artists Shine at Ex­hi­bi­tion

KALA­MUNDA VIEW News from your City Over 300 peo­ple gath­ered at Kala­munda’s Zig Zag Gallery on 17 July for the ex­hi­bi­tion open­ing of the 2018 Young Artist Awards.

Open to young peo­ple aged be­tween 10 and 25 who live, work, study, vol­un­teer or visit the City of Kala­munda, the Awards show­case and cel­e­brate emerg­ing young artists in the com­mu­nity.

Judges awarded Anika Zonta Al­bil­los’ (13) and Sarah Liebeck (17) Best Piece for their re­spec­tive age ranges, whilst Olivia Wake (16) re­ceived Best In­ter­pre­ta­tion of Theme.

Clau­dia Grib­ble (12) and Bri­ony Bray (17) re­ceived a Highly Com­mended. Amongst the com­pe­ti­tion stood out Leah Ad­di­son’s (17) paint­ing Water Spirit, wow­ing the crowd and judges. Leah re­ceived the over­all prize, tak­ing out the 2018 Emerg­ing Artist Award.
