Govt funds available for bridge fixes
Councils in Durack can apply for funding to fix local bridges in poor condition after a new round of funding opened on Friday, March 17.
Member for Durack Melissa Price said it was a great opportunity to have ageing bridges fixed with up to half the cost met by the Federal Government under its Bridges Renewal Programme.
Councils have been encouraged to discuss priorities with their local communities, industry stakeholders, Regional Development Australia committees and relevant government road agencies.
“Residents who might like to put forward their ideas should get in touch with their council,” Ms Price said.
Successful applicants are eligible to receive up to 50 per cent of project costs, or $5 million in funding.
