Nurse visit brings Parkinson’s expertise
A specialist nurse will call in to Jurien Bay and Moora next week to support local patients living with Parkinson’s disease.
Parkinson’s nurse specialist Fiona Roscoe from Parkinson’s WA will undertake in-home visits on Monday and Tuesday.
Parkinson’s WA chief executive Brenda Matthews said they tried to organise visits as regularly as possible.
“We also take the opportunity to utilise this time to support health professionals in the area with new knowledge and skills that will be useful for them in the interim,” she said.
In WA, it’s estimated more than 20,000 people are affected by Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s WA also provide regional areas with link-ups to health professionals.
“It is a pleasure to be making these visits to Moora Hospital, Jurien Bay Health Centre, Jurien Bay RSL Care WA, in addition to visiting a number of local people diagnosed with Parkinson’s in their homes,” Ms Roscoe said.
